new connectors and stuff
« on: 26 May 2007, 12:52 »
just been out for a fiddle,
crimped new connectors onto all the temp sender wires, as the old plugs were a bit crappy.

I also tightened the gearbox earth as it was loose!!

started up , but now its idleing at about 1500, then drops to about 1200 when warmed up a bit

why is this, do I now need to set uo again?

just turn the idle screw down till its 1000rpm, the old connectors must have been dodgy

just shows eh - things are broken and you don't even know it!

I'll go out in a while for another fiddle

On a similar note, I was trying to undo the earth that is underneath the coil, so that I could fit a new one, but I can;t get at the bolt/nut whatever it is! I can't even see what size it is but it feels like 10mm?

Just cleaned my sarter motor connectors up today as over the last 3 or 4 days its been cranking over VERY slowly... thought it might have been a dodgy starter motor, but i just tried cleaning the connectors on the off chance... worked a treat!!

I don't think a semi will give the same results

Just warmer her up, and adjusted (ISV unplugged airbox bunged etc..) now idleing a treat at 1000rpm.
