Lots of Curbing - NOW DONE *PICS*
Hum seems it might be worth a shot, dont wanna pay lots of money for refurb. Think ill give it a go, i reckon i could get away with skimming ontop to get all of the rough edges off then get some sandpaper on it to a better finish then polish them up. Thanks for the help guys :)

i didn't want to pay stupid money for re-furbing either. If your willing to put in a few evenings of work you can do it yourself! this is how i got on http://www.golfgtiforum.co.uk/index.php?topic=54687.0

They are done

Few pictures.

These wheels rims were absolutely fooked.

Ground them down with my dremel. Then masked them up for filler primer.

Now primered.

Masked up just below the spoke and sprayed it silver.

Let it dry and they are done.

They look good, loads better than before, i mean look at the size of the kerbs in the first pic they are savage. Ground them down with my dremel which i bought from maplins, which funny story they were actually having a deal on at the time! So got it for 20quid and that included a free 120 piece kit. Ground them down which took a while but it was a nice day so didnt mind. Spray paint cost me a 10er for two 600ml tins. So to recap-

20 - Dremel
10 - Paint

Opposed to-

Refurb place - 40 a wheel.

they aint perfect but they saved me 130 quid from taking them to be refurbed. I highly reccommend this if you has badly damaged rims and are just looking for something neater.
