I have done all the research I need to do if I am going to get someone else to build the engine for me!
All I am currently doing is seeing what is available if I want to save myself some money and do part of the work myself.
I do indeed need new pistons as I am reboring 1mm oversize to 83.5mm

I don't think you will be happy until you have a turbo tbh Len. I was thinking of spicing up my abf power wise but the amount of money it will cost for not outstanding gains I don't think it is worth it,

I have turbo enough in my Passat thanks!



I have a goal and that is to get an abf engine that produces over 200bhp N/A
If I achieve that then fine I will be happy.
I have been told by two seperate well respected engine builders what I need to achieve that goal and if I throw wads of cash at them they will do it for me!

I ran NOS in my old 84 XR2, was rocket and just like a rocket it went boom in the end.
I had a proper kit and installation cost me about £500 back in the day and gave me more grunt than the tuned RS I had before

Thing with nitrous is you have to know when to switch it off!

So South Cerney Engineering are going to do the rebore! Not bad price £86.
Then there is a place called Bassett Down Balancing who will check and balance the crank, even lighten and knife edge it if I want!

Just those darned pistons to source!
