All done in 20 mins flat.  What a doddle- have been putting it off for ages, God knows why!?!

Has got rid of a lot of the transmission "humming" and shifts nice and smoothly.  Colour of the stuff that came out was interesting!!  Used the 80W/90 stuff from GSF, took 1.9 litres.

Now looking forward to my drive to work in the morning!!

the colour of the oil out of mine was like treacle (and it stinks!!), but if you get some on your finger it was still quite a goldeny colour!

Just done mine. Got some Redline MTL from the C&R stand at Inters. Really pleased with the result.  The gear change is noticably smoother and requires less effort.

got mine from here, slighty cheaper:
http://turbobits.co.uk/acatalog/redline_synthetic_gear_transmission_differential_axle_oil_fluid.html

In theory 2 bottles shouldn't be enough becasue a quart is just under a litre, but in practice you never get all the old oil out so 2 bottles is plenty :)

Well, after reading this thread I gritted my teeth and stumped up the £34 (including £9.50 for delivery ) for 2 litres of Redline MTL.

A couple of months ago, I had changed the gearbox oil for some 80W/90 I got from GSF. Was shocked to find my gearchanges were worse! 2nd gear crunch was no better and was very notchy when cold and it had even developed a crunch going from 4th to 3rd. Even my Mum noticed!

Anyway, the Redline is far better. 3rd gear crunch has now disappeared again and shifts are alot smoother now. Not sure its got rid of the 2nd gear crunch but its definitely easier to engage from cold.

Interestingly, the hot 80W/90 I drained out was thicker than the cold Redline MTL. I'll be keeping a close eye on it after somebody on here commented that Redline MTL leaked out round his driveshaft seals.

just to add if you dont wanna take the wheel off and fill through the hole on the side of the gearbox, you can fill it through the hole for the speedo cable
