are the fronts done?

Fronts are a greenish tint from the factory, not a film.

What only say's B pillar back? if you refering to the VW sales bunph, then that's right, the Extra film is the B pillar back, but the front should come with a standard blue/green tint that part of the glass (in the mix)

Had mine done by an indy, he does all the local Land Rover and VW dealers tints

This is 35% the lower the number the darker it is, he said this is what the dealers call factory grade.

Not the best picture I'm afraid.

Beautiful car Creepy... making me wish I still had mine but if I had carried on adding miles at the rate I was it would have probably had 100k+ miles by the end of the year

the front look quite dark too? might just be the image...

u can tint the glass after then?

Most dealers will get an after market trimmer in, even if you spec tint's at time of order, there's more profit for them that way, I paid £115 for mine, as me and a mate had them done together, so the total bill was £230

what do you mean by that?!  If you add rear tints from the B pillar back, this is a factory option.  Dealers can just get some cowboy to add some film onto it...

Well I met the Guy who tinted mine, while at the dealers one afternoon, I asked him if he was interested in doing mine on the side, and we made arrangments over the phone.

When he was doing the job (one Sunday morning) he told me a lot of dealers (not just VW) have the tint's done after market as they make more profit than speccing it from the factory.

Surely this would be illegal

I ordered factory tints from the B pillar back and these tints are the glass itself. "Getting a man in" to put film on the standard windows would be fraudulant if the customer ordered a factory fit. I know I would be reporting a dealer if they tried it with me

My dealer showed me some non-factory tints that they'd had done - and pointed out the bubbles round the heated rear windscreen as an advert for getting them done in the factory!
There is no way they could palm me off with 'film' after that now!

They probably did this themselves with some Halfords film.   Properly done tints should not have any bubbles - even round the heated rear screen.

I have never had tints done, but a friend always has his cars done from b pillar back.  He's had a 330i, Golf IV and 996 done so far, all from a place in Preston somewhere on the docks and they have always been fine.
