Hi all,
I'm Jamie, bought a MK3 Colour-Concept a few weeks ago and need some help.
Going to install component speakers with crossover in my MK3 and after reading over the forum I need to clarify I have everything right in my head.
1) Golf wiring sends FULL signal to tweeter in dash
2) Tweeter mounting has the circuitry to split away the lower frequencies and send them out again; to the door speaker (hence the two sets of wires coming out of the tweeter)
So to fit components with a crossover I do this :
1) Take both tweeter and door speaker out
2) Feed the standard wiring that fed the tweeter to the LINE IN on my crossover box
3) Feed my new tweeter wiring to the TWEETER OUT on the crossover box
4) Feed the door speaker VIA CUT AND STRIPPED STANDARD WIRING to the WOOFER OUT on my crossover box
5) The only wiring modifications I need to make are modifying the connectors in the door to fit new speaker and stripping the two sets of wires that where in the tweeter to feed into my crossover LINE IN and WOOFER OUT
Please can somebody put my mind at rest and verify I have got this all right in my mind.
Cheers !
Jamie
