I like my GTI !!

Well having had it for three days before being stolen and recovered and now had it for over a full week (!) I have to conclude of all the cars I have  ever owned it is simply the best.

What do you like/dislike  most about yours?

What  I like  most about mine is -(bear with me as I am 50 plus) :

1. Comfort -most important thing to me is the driving position. Lots of lower back pain...the GTI seats with electric lumbar support are great (and yes I was a Volvo V70 owner just because of the seats!)

2. Performance -awsome ...still not quite got the hang of the flippy paddles as not had enough time on windy roads so it does stay in auto most of the time.. nimble..easy to manoever etc

3. The Toys...still finding  more...Satnav/Xenons/PDC/ great stereo even the sunglass holder is usefull

4. Practicality....all my golf gear and trolley swallowed up in the boot

5. Looks -head turner..great colour


What don't I like?  Turn right into my drive , forget to cancel the indicator and forever leave the parking lights on (doh!)

Forgot yesterday (when I got too close to a curb whilst parking) thatI had 18 inch Monzas .... horrible sound allys on concrete arrgggghhhh ...bet I am not the only one on thos site who forgot and who has curbed alloys??

I've got a set for sale if you need some?

I've 2 minted 18s and 2 kerbed ones. I'd be happy to split them up if the price is right. The stealers want £350 a wheel but i'm sure i can do it less.....

or repair it cost you roughly £100 a wheel, depending also how much its scuffed, and somewhere that will actually not be frightened to repair it. See other threads for places to take it, or lastly, scuff the other side to make a matching set!  , Have a look on some prevoius threads were to get them repaired as only a few places will attempt to repair them

I got to be honest and say I am not going to replace or do anything with them yet because sods law is I'll forget and do it again.

Its not something that really draws attention...just annoys me a bit.. so I'll wiat till I do a "proper job" on them!

What do you like/dislike  most about yours?

I love everything about mine! Been driving my old lupo for the past week to get him through service and mot ok and I am soooooooooooooo looking forward to getting back out in the GT! Would've been out before now had i not got uni work to do  

No kerbed wheels for me yet thank god! Although did have an extremely close-call couple of weeks ago... I work along a one-way street with parking on one side, totally wasn't thinking when I pulled out of work entrance one night...an almost 90° turn... thankfully only the tyre took a scape and the wheel is fine, pheeeww!

theres a guy around my end who i use who does all 4 alloys for £250. He does a great job aswell!
