do i need any special tools to hold the clutch central?

You sould do yes, a clutch alignment tool. I do mine by eye.

Did you get this done mate? hows she drive now? i recently read an article saying that a diesal clutch is a good upgrade due to the torque it has to handle.. i might pop down the stealers and match them up to see if they are the same size etc

clutch feels smashing, very nice compared to what it was before

it now engages half way up, rather than 4mm before the top

the car actually does more than 30mph now and can get on the motorway

will have to push it once i have everything done
