help please mk4 golf componants
« on: 17 April 2007, 21:08 »
hi i fitted some 6x9s before, but after reading many comments, ive decided to invest in some compants

i brought 6.5inch directed audio extreme, the stuff from pimp my ride, its got the cross over kit etc

basically ive fitted the speakers to the back doors, with the wires i had for the 6x9s but they sound wack, no treble at all, but i havnt plugged the cross over block on or the tweeter so im guessing thats why???

how can i got the tweeter into the door card is it possible? defo wont go thru the back, not sure if its possible to push the old grill out from the tweeter etc, and plug this in, other wise it will be a case of putting it some were else...any adivce on this?

thanks ppl!!

Components in the rear doors is a disgraceful waste!

Put them in the front, (mids in the doors, tweets in the dash) and feed them some power from a decent amp!

deffo would have done the front first, how often do you sit in the back?!

this is the best way i have ever seen of mounting the tweeters in the front

in the back though, never thought about it, no real reason to. could mount them on the roof lining where it meets top of the door I suppose.

i done it!!! in the end, i fitted the tweeter to the actual door under the door card.. with stickback plastic, and glu, heald it preety well, took the old tweeter out so the sound comes thru

gotta say im pressed big improvement upon the orginals, now im going to change the fronts 2day or 2rm,

and hopefully fit 2 12" poineers or 1 12" not sure yet =)
