16v conversion
« on: 16 April 2007, 10:34 »
My 8v anniversary is getting a bit tired (121k) and needs a new clutch and cambelt, and the gearbox is getting a bit whiney... If it's not too pricey, as in £1000 or less, do you think it would be better to put in a recon 16v engine and gearbox instead?

I'm getting worried as i'm using it a lot to drive from london to cornwall (surfing)

Sell yours and get a 16v! Far easier and less costly!

You need the ECU and loom from a 16v.

a 16v anniversary is rarer than rockinghorse plop... and expensive.

ordinary 16v golfs look a bit dull by comparison (in my opinion anyway)

Virtually everything I know about the workings of the internal combustion engine can be written on the back of a small stamp with a large marker
