Yup, but then I have been known to out-brake Scoobys and M3s - so I do put the fronts under considerable stress.
Remember, pressures on the sticker are only "recommeded" pressures - you are perfectly free to "tweak" them to suit your own drivng style, though I wouldn't recommend going lower than about 2-3psi, due to the potential for excessive heat build up.
Incidentally, higher pressures create a lower rolling resistance, and should actually improve your fuel consumption.
