Mk2 to Mk3
« on: 06 April 2007, 17:01 »
Has anyone else gone from a MK2 to  Mk3 and felt like they have done something wrong..

i only had a MK2 Driver but i loved the look of it.

Now I have a MK3 GL, but i dont fell like a Proud VW owner.   I love all VW but I dont like not having a MK2.

I still have the MK2, everyone says just sell it and get rid of it as the engine has given up, and they also say i am mad or stupid to think about keeping it to fix up...

what should i do?

sell it buy a mark 1 and then you'll b driving a real dub

i always think the mark 1 and 2 are a real drive/ride. anything later and with the luxury comes

a loss of fun, its only my opinion - most people like to be seen in newer cars but the mark 3 was never

vw's best idea and was never as well excepted as the earlier marks. :undecided:

cant you sell both and get a car u do want 2 drive

I had a MK1, in fact i have had 2 of them. and i loved both of them. if i didnt have to sell them i would not have got rid of them.

The only reason for the MK3 was to keep the misses happy, which now i am regretting.... should have just found a MK2.... why do females have so much power over us. its easier to keep them happy.

and me suffer with a mk3...... but not sure how much longer i can last

I bought a Mk3 to keep my missus happy too

I miss my Mk2, even my first mk2 1.8 GL was more fun that this Mk3 1.8 CL.
I did have a Mk2 16v which was a great drivers car, I'd love another one.

If I could manage it, I'd go for a late Mk2 GTI, one with all the creature comforts, and looks slightly more modern with big bumpers and recaro interior to keep her happy.

Oh well.
But my missus has said that I can have one later, maybe even a project car, and I'm holding onto that dream....  :undecided:
