1300 Fuel Pump
« on: 27 March 2007, 21:54 »
In need of some help.

Does the fuel pump have a seperate plunger, as I bolted it on to the head and the rod coming from the pump doesn't reach the camshaft and it seem theres should be another bit for it to reach the cam?

Any help would be great cheers!

are you sure its bolting down flush, and that its the right pump for your engine?  My dad had to replace the pump on his 1.3, and I remember he had to grind it a bit so it would go on...

No I meant is it a 1.6/1.8 carb pump ;)
I don't know exactly why my dads pump didnt fit, I assume the casing hit something?

I rememeber you mentioning about your da having that problem i'm sure, cause his pump failed.

And ah, good shout, I see your point now

I've got a spare, i think, 1.3 pump form a 2g engine, sat here.. if it may b of any use, I may flog it off

Its the pump that came off the engine and it ran before.

Haynes show a picture of a plunger being inserted before the pump.
