BMX A big negative, no if I do 70ish on the motorway and generally stick to the speed limits I can average around 30mpg ( according to the trip computer ). As for round town well lets not go there, 20 - 21 mpg.

The other thing thats worth trying is the tracking. It can be over looked when leaving the factory and make a big difference. I'm laying down over 250bhp and only when I'm driving like a hooligan do I get the problems your talking about.

Teutonic Tamer take a chill pill man!

Erm - you posted a factually incorrect statement, and I was just advising the correct operation of the drivetrain.

When I bought my R32 the edition 30 wasn't around if it had been I might have gone for one.

Same here, though I would still stick with the standard GTI, as I like full leather.

I've owned both the Gti and the R32 and prefer my R32. Being a family man I've got a 5dr and if you crank one of the rear windows down abit the sound track from the engine alone is worth the premium.  I get only around 28 - 30 mpg with it though and with my Gti I use to average around 31 - 35 mpg ( on the way to work, not around town ) but as I do around 6 - 8000 miles a year there's c*ck all difference in fuel costs.

OK, I wasn't trying to spoon-feed you!  I too have the 5door, primarily because on the 3dr, the doors are much bigger, and the seat belts are further back!

OMG, I'd rather have a testicle removed, before being forced into a Bangle design.  The modern Beemers just look like any Jap-mobile . . .

I like the look of the front of 3 series, it's the rear that's poo. I assume the M3 is in coupe version too, this has the rear end (and lights) that should have ben used from day one!
