Ignition switch removal
« on: 12 March 2007, 16:34 »
Hi guys

the mk2 keeps conking out and IT IS the igiition switch.

I just had the steering colum out and its comes out suprisingly easy.

Ive read that you need to drill a 3mm hole to get the switch out of the housing?

I dont have a clue where to drill.

Anyone have a pic for me? or a how to guide? :embarassed:

thanks

Blue

did you have to drill anything? looked like just a screw holding the barrel in there i never managed to get passed the steering wheel bush some sort of spacer to make the steering wheel fit right.

jsut for the elccy switch its a scre on the inside edge of it, and it slips out.. only if you wanted to change the actual barrel itself would you need to drill

That was piss easy

took 25 minutes.

Just used a long thin flat head screw driver to undo the phillips screw

out with the old. in with the new and it fired up without cutting out

the screw (crap pic)

chers for the help
