well if we're going off the internet i've seen 7.9 too..

Maybe not fast but Torque'e

I would have a VR6, sounds like they have plenty of torque all the way through the rev range.

 ;D

the 16v is torquey too..  guess they all gotta be a bit to launch the weight of the car forwards :)

we need dyno charts for all stock models ;)

I tried to find the graphs yesterday, torque against RPM, but no joy.

I think mk3 8v owners have a chip on their shoulder.
People have cars for different reasons. I have a golf cos its fast and the roof comes off. Probably sell it this year though (never have a car for more than 18 months).

The only reason anyone has a mk3 8v is that they couldnt afford a proper 16v car.

then the 8v is 10.9 sec

Uhm, I think you'll find its quoted at 10.3secs.  :-*

so let me get this straight, your going off internet based roadtests etc yes?

ok, so that means

8v = 8.7secs
16v = 8.3secs

im happy now... thanx for that.

oh and I was JOKING when I said my 8v is quicker than a VR6 ... jeez, do u lot not understand sarcasm and jokes?

Er no, the owners manual states

8v   0-100km/ph       10.9secs
16v 0-100km/ph         8.7secs

I assume you do actually have an owners manual with your car

 :D :D :D

the 16v is torquey too..

Everywhere I read says its got a flat mid range, and no pull from low down.
