dont but new creepy, you throw away too much money , get 1 yr old with most xtras for less £, if you like the smell of a new car, then go for it, but in truth , you will get a better deal with  a near as new one. There are hundreds that vw have on database that will near as dam it fit your wanted specification.

I know what you say make sense Phil, I originally looked to buy a near new one, but no dealer would come close the the £19k PX that this dealer has offered against a new one.
But it looks like I'm back to square one

Anyone noticed a smallish amount of condensation in the xenon lenses? Seem to occur after use, presumably once it is warm inside and starts to cool.

Yup, mine do it too.  I think there is something in the owners manual, about it being "normal".  :undecided:

Time to start worrying when you have shoal of goldfish inside 'em.

the dealer that's supposed to be supplying mine is messing me around, and I'm thinking of pulling my order, so as a contingency I've been looking at used low mileage models again.

Interested in my S4, now my RS4 is now built and awaiting shipping?

Oh, and the RS4 comes with Xenons that go round corners too . . .

Cheers Sean. No goldfish but annoying. I had a feeling it had been mentioned somewhere that the units are not sealed to keep heat down hence moisture can come and go a little.

No headlights are actually sealed - they usually have little "L" shaped rubber breather tubes on the rear of the units.  You might be able to find them near the bulb access rubber covers.

OK, more importantly then, can I do anything to get rid (i.e. hair dryer in breather) and then anything to stop it returning?

Alas, I've yet to find a solution.  Four cars (2 Vauxhalls, an Audi and the GTI) with Xenons have all suffered the same probs - tried the hair dryer, tried taking the headlamps out and leaving them in the airing cupboard - bloody condensation still comes back.  Its obviously worse in the winter with the lower ambient temps, so I just live with it!

If you do manage to find a cure - then bloody Patent it, and you'll never have to work again!!

No sign of a cure, but found this which supports the fact that it is normal:

Seems the TT boys also suffer.

Aye, VW/Audi have even issued a TSB on this, stating that misting which disappears after about 15minutes of lights on, is OK.
