Where are all of the 07 plate Ed 30 and standard GTI owners telling us how nice their motors are?

only driven it a few miles yesterday

Was out at a black-tie do with the office last night, so it was parked up safely.

Poked around with the highline computer settings and the seating position, and thats about it so far...will get a chance to drive it properly tonight, so will get some pics then

Picked mine up at 3pm yesterday, and Ollieb7's silver Edition 30 was being driven into the showroom to take it's place...was looking good

Also got given a promotional USB memory stick branded "Golf GT" from the dealer as they'd just had a batch in...hardly a big freebie, but a nice touch
Golf Mk8 R order cancelled...awaiting company car instead
Tiguan 1.5 Elegance for the wife & dogs
Skoda 1.5 SEL cheap lease special

I'm here! Have done about 100 miles so far but it is torture, dying to just floor it!

All going well so far. Possibly the mildest case of dash top rattle but really nothing. Even the auto lights are turning themselves off when coming out of a tunnel!

18's look great and the dealer finally fitted the metal valves which finish them off nicely.

Xenon's are great, and look the nuts.

Ah - is that what they did - that would explain why my car was not what i'd call fully clean. Saw your Audi Phope with the keys hanging out of the door lock - hope its still there. Still havn't seen your car Phope - the photos looking good though.
I didn't get any freebies though  - my wife was well peeved that there was no flowers!

I've still only got 50 miles on the clock - spent yesterday doing the armourfend (fiddly) and the life shine (sooo easy!) - car is now what i'd call mint! Going for a big drive today out in RoyalDeeside so that should add a few miles.

Impressions? The gear shift is lovely, short throw with a good mechanical feel to it, Not had the car over 3500 rpm but you can feel it has some torque low down, pulls really well - Super smooth and refiined - 60mph you don't notice (this could also be a negitive mind as to feel your going fast you'll need to be going really fast!) After the Clio 182 for 6 weeks the Golf does feel big but thats just a matter of getting used to. The seats have a fantastic electic lumber support for moving up, down and backwards and forwards for your back (the button is like a little Golf ball on the side) - they also grip for side movement spot on. Suspension firm but rides well. RCD500 - enough to blow my ears off. The sunroof mechanisum is not a button but a rottary knob, so easy to use. Gripes - trying hard to think here! - whey have they stoped doing the black trim below the rear window to extend the line? The indicators on the mirrors can be slightly distracting. Still havn't done my rear valance. And the running in - the dealer said 'oh they all come run in' - the manual says no more than 3/4 top speed for the first 1000km and then (can't remember) for the next 500km.
This is something that im afraid others will not be able to appreciate - but you soooo should - the wheels are so easy to clean and the car looks more than the dogs dangles what with the black wheel, red calipers and silver body work - soooo chuffed.

Hello guys (and gals   ,) sounds like we are having a good time so far
300 miles now and just opened it up a little on the way for a takeaway - it's very fast on the pickup.

Anyhow, I know this is totally anal but - can you remove the front carpet mat stubs ???? (the ones fitted to the carpet at the front).
The studs on the ED30 seem to have no holding-clip on them (they seem to be custom for the supplied ED30 mats which I don't like  and so I want to put on some cool VW Mats that I have bought, but I need the standard mat stubs (with the movable clips on the top - like the standard GTI).

Can you replace the front carpet stubs guys - the dealer said yes - but I never take their word
By the way - replaced the front astray lid with a aluminum one - looks sooooooooooo much better.

You can probably guess if I am writing about ashtray covers and mats - it's the only thing that I would change !!!

I know the feeling..Mind you just washed it and found a rash of brown spots on the bonnet!!!   A bit like railway fallout. Called the dealer and will be dropping in to see them on Monday. Mmmm they did mention that they had had some building work done last week.
Now the other question is it on top or under the life shine!!! Not happy about it. But not too stressed as life's too short.

Mind you the comments I've had with regards to the car have been very complimentary. The car is great to drive.
I put it in the garage last night. Locked it up and there was an electrical motor type of noise. Does the water pump keep working after the car is turned off?
It was NOT the cooling fans. LOL
Will post some pictures soon.
Bye Bye Edition 30
