Not sure on that one, but I do know that the method that I described above works on vehicles with parking sensors.  As this was a 07MY though, it might have been operated differently on older MY cars.  Sorry it didn't work for you.

ok i will try,is this side mirror option on available with rear parking sensors? i dont have those, but have pretty most everything else, will try it this morning and see if it works .

The auto dropping mirror option is a standard fit with the parking sensors when its a factory fitted option.  Not sure if that applys if its stealer fit.

I've ordered mine with the folding mirrors and reverse lowering mirrors is supposed to be in with this option. I thought that the mirror dipped automatically when put into reverse and I am now finding out you have to alter the mirror manually anyway. Bit of a swizz, but I mainly got it for the automatic folding mirror bit, so anything else is a bonus I suppose

I have seen this work and it was pretty cool.  All I did was switch the joystick into the L mirror position and it dropped automatically whilst I was in reverse.  Then when I switched the joystick to the middle it the mirror went back to the original position.  Let me know when you get it that it works, or I'll be the only one who seems to have been lucky enough to see it in operation.
