speedo problems
« on: 26 February 2007, 13:21 »
hi guys & girls, for the past week my speedo has been playing up. when i put my foot down my speedo jumps up and down all over the place, i read a a topic that said if you disconnect the battery for 15 mins it will reset the ecu for the rev counter, is that the same for the speedo??  i have had my diagnostics done and it came up with no errors.

Yea worth a try disconnecting the battery! If not try the connectors or the sensor

no luck! disconnected battery for 30 mins but still doing the same thing.  if i am going 30 and put my accelerator down the speedo jumps up and down sometimes to 120!! but sometimes it does not do it, it jumps a little bit.

Either a faulty connection, might be loose, so movement changes cause a flutter.
Or the Hall sender is developing a fault.

Might be very difficult! Its down on the diff above where the driveshafts come out.

So back of engine, watch the manifold it stays hot a long time!
Not looked myself so may not be able to see it from above. I looked at my Bentley manual for the location.

Have driven one about 30 years ago! And that was like driving an unresponsive tank!
I guess the latest models are much better!

I couldnt afford a Bentley!
