Guess what, it's another 'Alloys' type question...
« on: 19 February 2007, 21:11 »
If this has been asked elsewhere on here, can someone point me in the right direction,  :wink:please..

Is there a list of what particular makes and size of factory standard alloys (Vauxhall, Audi etc..), fit onto standard Mk3's Golfs?

If so,  where the hell is it??

If not, could someone clever let me know?

Fank yoooooo

not sure what offset but you'll need PCD 100 x 5

so that's 5 bolts, all 100mm apart

you'll need to know the correct centre bore and offset for your car.

Standard MK3 rims are 15"

I think the most important bit is the offset, I have been looking at ultralite alloys which have 100 x 5 PCD but the offset was 35 which is different to VW so it means that the tyres could rub on the arches and these alloys would "stick out" slightly more than normal.

The way round that is to stretch the tyres or use as low profile as possible. Also, dropping the car helps by all accounts.

I cant be arsed to have arch work done on the car as it too expensive considering the price of the car so I am trying to find some alloys that will fit and I like, which is proving to not be that easy

Virtually everything I know about the workings of the internal combustion engine can be written on the back of a small stamp with a large marker

Am I being thick (Not for the first time...) or doesn't a 35 offset come within these measurements??
