nice! what amps, subs, and power supply are you planning on using? have you thought of adding some high up (maybe windscreen pillar) tweeters? they make loads of difference! (check the post by bazza at the top of the ice section for a nice way to do it!) what size is that sub? 15''?

i have it all already built and running for the last 4-5 months these are old fotos. Im using the alpine HU which is the dogs  i have two of them one in another car i got.

its a 15" kicker running 500w rms through a kenwood amp which is pushing that 500w rms, although the sub can peak upto 1000w. The components are powered through another kenwood amp at their max rms setting which i cannot remember right now. This install was built up with ice i had lying around from other cars i didnt buy anything apart from the mdf and loads of it!!

If i plan to use a louder 15" in the future the box will be able to handle it as it has being built to top dog quality. The sounds are amazing especially with the centre speaker which truly puts the cherry on the cake. Will find fotos of its finished up and get them on here.

looks like the tweeters are living in the door pods to me :) you get a nice stage then because they're quite far away from your ears unlike the pillar mounted ones :)

i have had tweeters in pillars before and its not bad of a job pretty straight forward but i found the tweeters being closer to the components sound better, to the type of music i listen to. Also i have read on audio forums that tweeters should be close to the components for optimum quality.

I used to have tweeters mounted in the pillars on another car but they did not sound that good, from that experience i would not do that again. I saw a red polo at J.A.E last year, the lad who had it was an audio installer, he had installed the components at the bottom on the pillar in a fibre glass surround against the windscreen and tweeters in the pillars that was awesome!!

But where i live the stuff would get nicked if it was so blatenly on display. I have had ice nicked out of this golf before!! which was a bummer
