update
well i took the golf up to my mates garage on monday to have the timing checked. it was a tooth out so we sorted that out but when we started the engine and revved the limiter still came in at 5000rpm. doh
wipped the top off the dizzy and found that the hall/cam sensor was mashed. it was that bad that we wondered how the engine ever ran at all.
called main steelers who wanted £130 for the dizzy complete with the cam sensor and said it wasnt available seperate.
then called Euro Car Parts who stated it was available separately at £35. a little easier on the pocket. lol
got it to us that afternoon. sweet!

while taking the old sensor off we saw what had happened, looks like someone or something has twisted the top of the dizzy shaft so needed a dizzy after all,
call the local scrappies and found one for £20 with as it turns out a good cam sensor and seeing as it a major head ache to remove we kept that one on.
once fitted we kicked her up and shazam!! she now revs to 6500rpm. sorted!!!!

so i now have a brand new cam sensor for an ADY engine so if anyone needs one im sure we can come to some arrangement. i will wait till the weekend before i put it on Egay just incase any of you guys need it.
give me a call on 07969958967
but generally well happy, she drive like a different car, easy starting, no lumpy tick over and revs to where she should.

cheers fellas.
