Throttle body question
«

Hi
Does anyone know how long it takes to remove the throttle body on a Mk3 8v to clean it properly? I've sprayed a can of carb cleaner thru it and its a lot better but really needs taking off I reckon. any advice /tips /pitfalls? Is it do-able on a saturday afternoon?
Cheers
Chris

do you have to disconnect the black plug and re-programme it or does it do that itself. what do you use to clean it? do you use a new gasket, if there is one. because mine over revs/ sticks when it is warm so might do this on the weekend.
thanks

It's a good write up!
Where can you get the gaskets without upsetting your local VW dealer with such a small order - I can't stand going in if I only need one thing, the "You are wasting my time look" just ruins my day!
