« on: 21 January 2004, 20:56 »
??? hello peeps. my mk4 i sometimes find it hard to put into (usually 1st) gear. it sometimes feels so stiff. reverse isnt any easier but the clutch doesnt slip. would it still mean clutch even though it doesnt slip or something else?

Have you tried putting it in gear, but instead of using force, keeping gentle pressure on the gearstick and letting the clutch out at the same time? You should find that as you let the clutch out, it will pop into gear really easily :-\

does the clutch feel heavy all the time, if so it could be your cable on the way out???? this would explain 1st and reverse being hard
