Eek, got a leak. (bloody flood, more like!)
« on: 18 January 2007, 01:18 »
After recent heavy rains have developed a pond in my front passenger footwell. Evidence of water coming down  panel immediately in front of passenger door from somewhere at corner of dashboard area. Its a three door by the way. Car previously dryzabone.  :undecided: Danny.

Have cleaned and greased up blower intake grill, and checked front scuttle water exit holes to no avail. ? Sunroof, screen rubber. Its def water and not antifreeze mix.  :undecided: Danny.

I presume when you say you have checked the drain holes you did the ones by the A pillar where that large chunk of rubber runs down to the wing? If not, check that, clean it out, and you should have no more problems.

Slick, when you talk of A pillar, do you mean the pillar that the door hangs on??

Thanks for the replies to my problem. I'm going to work through the options. Can't see it being the door membranes as the leak is in front of the door. May be the window rubber and if it is may just change the screen at same time as some pleb has had a go at the windscreen with a bb gun prior to my buying the car. Sunroof drain tubes working. Grease that i smeared around the blower leaf guard may not be keeping water out, so may use silicon sealant there. Drain holes at ends of scuttle are clear also. Danny.

Just had a thought, the car has been modded with a single wiper. Could it be one of the rubber bungs that are fitted to the old wiper arm holes is letting in water?? Danny.
