Shame you did get rid of it, you would have enjoyed watching me sail off down the pod 1/4

I think I just wet myself, I've seen you drive, oh and we all know about Stealth rollers!!

I was pondering this last night. It must have been done, what would win?

Straight line drag race.

VR - No doubt!

Alternatively you could stop being a c*ck (that's my job) and put your money where your mouth is. Oh no sorry, you can't.

I also have a video that rich (richandhazel) took at bugjam two years ago of me beating a VR in mine. Even with a messed up second gear change.

Edit: also about the stealth rollers comments.... well people keep going back there don't they, RR days, tune ups, the whole shebang.  - so aye, they must be f**king awful.

My brother has got a 16v mk2 and i got my mk3 vr both are stander ed. We were driving the other day on a great bit of bypass near our houses theres a small roundabout and then it goes onto duel carrage way we both came off the roundabout and floored it. We were neck and neck up to about 70mph and then i started to pull away abit but not buy loads, but as people have said the vr6 has higher topend speed anyway and 3rd gear in a vr  really gets you going all the way up to 100mph. I thought i was going to walk all over him and was very surprised how quick the 16v was. My bros old vr6 mk2 would of annihilated both of our cars now though it was a real animal only problem was traction. There was no point in even thinking of putting your foot down in the wet.....

Hello....Mcfly! Have you read the title of this thread, or were you too busy thinking of naked girls covered in ice cream ?

I was pondering this last night. It must have been done, what would win?

Straight line drag race.

Time bonus for pedestrians mamed/terrified

He wanted to know what STANDARD car would be the quickest

I know, as I am the owner of a standard Mk2 16v, and I was the owner of a standard Mk3 VR6, the Mk3 VR6 is by far the faster.

And I know alot of people go to the Stealth rolling road days and the suchlike, but alot of comments come back saying they are optimistic, as witnessed at the WRC rolling road day in 2005.

and as i stated in the very first post standard to standard the VR would win. 10 points to you for reading that one.

Even if they are "optomistic" i can still trounce them regardless. In which case, they can't be far off now can they.

Naked girls..... ice cream? What you suggesting?

have had shat loads of mk2's 8v's and 16v's i currently run i high miler vr6.. and it dose wipe the @rse off a standard 16v... easy... but alot of its down to drivers... ive wiped some vr6 drivers in my old 16v's... cause they aint slow, and there lighter...best way to sort any arguments is get a standard 16v, a modded 16v, a standard vr6 and a modded vr6... then do the best of 5... get the average modded and unmodded ... job done... but get a driver thats done it loadsa times and reaction time is next to nowt... then both cars if have good drivers there wont be alot in it tbh....

just my 10p's worth... oh yeah my mk3 vr6 track car is going for a mk2 gti... power aint everything... (tell u anything?? lol)

's true...Straight line isn't everything.

Hmmm, what to buy! Im very bored of my mk3 already, having said that it is a 1.8 GL & handles like a boat...without any form of engine. & it looks pretty crap.

Wheras driving my mates dads mk2 was like being in a go-kart & looked good....

mk2 it is then!
