« on: 18 December 2006, 16:37 »
whats the difference between a mk1 gti cabrio and a mk1 gti black cabrio?

i found this problem when looking for insurance, i have a B reg 1985 gti cab. yes the colour of the vehcile is black, graphite metallic i think paint code available. I know the car is not a Rivage, or sportline nor is it the CC christmas edition, nor the triple white...

I just had a look on our system at work for you Han and it actually seperatly lists a VW golf GTi Black Cabr made on a 1985, dunno if this was a special edition or summat then? It came out as a grp 39 (out of 50) on our system which is actually lower than a if i just choose a normal VW golf gti cabr on a 1985 (grp 43!)!

That may have slightly affected the quote we gave you cos i just rated it as the normal one.....

I believe the "Black" GTI was a special edition just like the Michael Barrymore special edition (All White ! ) I don't think I've ever seen one though but they were, as the name suggests, all black. :nerd:
......now officially dubless.

Is the car all black ? If not then it's not, if yes, then maybe, but I'd have thought that it would say it on your V5 if it was as my cab actually says it's a Rivage on the docs.
