There isn't one near the airbox???
The upper tensioner is a banjo bolt, it is fitted to the rear of the right hand cylinder head. I would remove the cover and check the upper guide rail as well, as these are known to fail.

Oh right i got you now. You mean the drivebelt tensioner, not the cam chain tensioners.
Yes its an easy diy job, you will need to wind a threaded bolt into the top of tensioner body(not to far) to release the tension on the belt, then unbolt the 3 bolts holding the tensioner to the cylinder head.
Do not tighten the 3 bolts up too much when refitting, as they strip easily!!

sounds pretty straight forward cheers bud are they expensive one i got on cost 4quid proberly why its buggered

I think it cost me around 70 quid when i replaced it when i had the vr, but that was from vw, not sure if GSF or EURO do it.

64quid i got it for

i am gettin told to replace belt aswell but have you seen how close the pulleys are to the chassis leg
might just put tensioner on for now see if it sorts it out

dont know what i was worrying about took me 10 minutes if that
easy to change did belt aswell
