But then again I remember when audi entered touring car racing a few years back and they had to carry extra weight as the 4 wheel drive system was making them win every race.

All the other manufactures complained that they had an unfair advantage.

I'm not surprised all their competitors had front-wheel drive. BMW left a year or two before Audi joined, and they also had to carry a weight penalty.

Also good at pit stops as they know where the jacking points are.
