If you were changing what would you get?
« on: 15 January 2004, 17:26 »
It does seem that i will be now changing the Golf at the end 2004/ beg 2005.

My budget is between ?18,000 and ?25,000.

My shortlist is:

Porsche Boxster
BMW 330CI Sport
BMW 330d (due to potential mileage)
Mercedes 320CLK

However, i would absolutely love a BMW M5 c. ?25k on a W/X plate.  ;D

Not too fussed about insurance as i can afford up to ?2k per year.

What would any of you think of the above list and what would you do?

I wondered how long it would take for someone to say that!!!

?20k + for a golf is a lot of cash for, well a golf. I want prestige ;)

Truth is, who would want a Golf over a 400bhp super saloon?

And the 330 and the M5, and probably the boxster are quicker....

Heard a lot of people saying the R32's a monster but they cant put up with it as a daily driver.
If I didnt have any kids for 18-25k I think a decent 911 my dream car.  But as I have kids then  probably an Audi S4 or an R8 is it?  or maybe a Range Rover or a Merc M class, decisions, decisions I do feel sorry for you pimpster!! :P

I dont like beemas myself but as you is da Pimpster they would probably suit ya!  ;D

If i could find an RS4 for ?25k i so would!!!!

I must admit to saying screw the prestige used car, how about a deposit down on the next Mk5 fast golf and be one of the first to have one....

I'm a friggin nightmare, always changing my mind.

however, i'm forever dreaming: 400bhp, RWD, hmmm. doughnuts......

RS6 I meant, thats the car, but 25K I doubt you could buy one.  Get a Porsche go on screw the beema, nobody likes a beema driver.
Once in a lifetime do you get to own a 911.
Anybody can get  a Golf, after all they are 'peoplescar'

RS6 - nice!!!

As you can tell i just want power and quality but not a headache (hence no EVO 8). Its lovely to have choices but its frustrating because if you spend ?25k and get the wrong car you'll kick yourself. My missus has an old BMW compact now and quite likes the new one, so maybe if she gets a 325ti that would deal with the 'fast' bmw part and get a porsche. God knows what i'll get but i'll keep you all updated. i'd rather wait and get something s**thot though than rushing.

My mate said i should get a Ferrari 348 but i dont fancy the ?2,500 a year service and clutch bill!!!!
