Can't imagine it is dense enough to really achieve anything. Dynamat or BrownBread that's what you want. No, not the type for making sarnies.

Not exactly cheap, I can't remember who the UK distributer is, they used to often do 4 rolls for the price of 3 type deals.

Have used dynamat before but not for a few cars back! Personally I think unless you are into some pretty serious ICE install it's not worth worrying about.

Basically I just want to reduce the road noise and that that you get in a 16 year old motor, my other car is a newish volvo v70 and is as quiet as a mouse. I like noise when I want it (windows down), so just looking to reduce these noises. Thanks for the advice jv.

I found roof flashing tape works really well to reduce road noise, its a silver backed roll of bitumen, costs about 10 or 15 quid a roll from b&q/homebase etc and that was enough to do all my doors and have loads left over. The change was very noticeable (I lined each of the plastic sheets inside the doors with it) and was gonna go on to do more of the car, but i sold it before I got the chance!
