My parcel shelf

I got bored this morning so decided to put my old 6X9s on my parcel shelf . Thing is i didnt want them showing so i got a bit of 18mm MDF and some acoustic cloth. It came out well....well i think so  :grin:

Thats 1 thick piece of mdf you used! Does it not weigh a ton?

Not saying it weighs a lot but my 0-60 is now 17 seconds  :grin:  It weighs a fair bit but only used a strip to run along the bottom of the parcel shelf (pics from below look like the MDF have taken up the entire shelf  :grin:)  My boot still lifts the shelf with ease  :smiley:

What are you using to link the shelf to the hatch? Cant view pics here at work!

I have trouble with mine. The standard grommett things on the hatch keep coming out!

Just the normal parcel shelf supports and plastic hooks on boot. Works fine so far.......

Aha! just read it again! So its not a solid mdf shelf then?! D'oh!

Oh mine is all MDF so no wonder!

Mine is all MDF and I found that nylon strapping works a treat. B&Q had it on a roll again when I went the other day. just poke a hole in it with a screwdriver and hook it over the old hanger then feed through the hole and tie a knot in it. :)

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

whilst people are talking about parcel shelves. can someone please take a photo of how the parcel shelf straps connect to the boot lid - i cant see how mine attach to anything exactly.
