Has anyone used these brakes from e-bay?

If so how have you found them, specifically looking for track application discs and these look just the ticket. Click on the discription for the link to open.

18 groove brake discs

Grooved and Drilled Discs

the first set are 239mm
the 2nd set are 256mm

256mm only came on mk2 16v's

as for which to buy.....

Grooved disks do not aid cooling, they simply prevent pad glaze
Drilled disks aid cooling but cheap ones have a tendancy to crack under hard use

for brakes i wouldnt skimp id get a reputable set of drilled items

Take gambits advice and buy a well know brand like EBC. The disks in the second link are standard cheap disks which have been drilled and grooved by a metal worker shop. I know cos i bought a set and they warped and cracked real bad real quickly! They even come in their origional box which shows them as standard disks!

As a rule of thumb "if it seems too good to be true it usually is!"

OK.  That's the problem.  I wanna get on the track but I havn't got 100's to spend on brakes.  I know what you are saying you get what you pay for.  However I've seen plenty of performance discs around the £50/£70 mark that would do the job and these aren't much below that.  I was going to bye the ATE Power Discs but would rather have the 18 groove items.  OK.  I'll keep on searching then, either that or sell my body to get

I believe the ATE Power discs were designed to help in the rain and were developed for the DTM series.

I put a post up a whilse ago about ATE's and the general consensus was that they were good but nobody has any experience of using them on track. 

I need new brakes for the MOT so thought I might as well fit some uprated ones while I do it, seeing as I'm only going to be using the car on the track.

And i've just realised the drilled ones are 256, didn't see that in the description so they are definitely out of the question, unless I upgrade my 8v hubs.

use the ATE power disks or the Brembo Max - they are both quality disks that will hold out on track

also do not go for pagid fast road pads if you are going to track it. go for Mintex or Ferrodo pads

What size brakes are you using as I have a brand new set of Tarox Monza's lying around, but they are 256mm?

my bargin 280mm vr6 discs £19 are currently at work being drilled... so i have bargin discs..... yeah they may rack i dont care.. lol.. my ratty vr6 is all about much cheapness.... lol
