idling? car wants to stall

Cars idling every now and then, revs go under 1000 and back up...like the cars going to stall? any ideas people?

could be several things, when do u get this problem, after the car been running a while or just when starting up?? temp gauage normal?? mine had probs starting or after re-starts eg. when getting petrol and it turned out to be the temp sensor, £15 fix, but my revs were moving upwards rather than down now i think about it.

it happens so randumly... could be when i start, when its out of gear at lights... when its coasting... jus kickins in when it wants really lol

thats a bit much aint it! will this problem go worse? i changed to spark plugs the other day the easy to get to ones and it worked better for 2 days but its doing it again now, so im really confused now!

Like Flipmode said it could be any number of things.  To me it sounds like the throttle body.  Your best bet is to go down to your garage and get a diagnostic check.  That will show up any faults that may be causing the problem and save you time changing parts that donÂ’t need to be changed.

I turn off my 1.8 t for a short period then it doesnt start for about 20+ mins sometimes and if i get it to  bump start  the idle is rougher & the revs go up & stays like it for about 10-15 mins drivin at low speed.. can any dubbers help?

The idle dips momentarily when the fans or aircon compressor kick in.

Possibly your temp sender mate, use the search function to look for temp sender issues and might be best to start a new topic so it doesn't get lost in this one :wink:
