yep i would concur, my 16v needs at least 3,500rpm to get going. i had an 8v before and that was alot faster in low revs but had no where near the pull at high revs. the annoying thing about it is if you want to be driving it quickly it means holding in gears at high revs or constantly dropping gears to hit the revs. i do like the way it wheel spins tho if you red line it in 1st and quick change into 2nd .

id say it was normal m8

I've currently got an 8v which is ideal for town driving. However, I would not race anyone with a 8v. If I had a 16v, it'll be a different story. Gotta love those high revs. Anyway, its known that a 16v needs winding up to get the most out of it. I don't think these is anything wrong with your car.

I've got an AmD tuned 16v and it flys

Full chat comes in at 4200rpm and goes very strong until 6700rpm.

Lower down the acceleration is way better than a standard 16v and 8v...all due to the tuning which is well worth it

A lot of twin cam cars are the same. My 405 Mi16 doesnt come on song until 4000rpm.

Valvers are made to rev! Just get it off the line as fast as you can without wheelspin and get into second as fast as you can!

I have a 1995 16v. I think that is what the 16v's are like. Mine has no pick up until in the higher rev range, once past 5000 though it is rapid!!! Anyone else think the same as me? Or is there something wrong with my car too?

Should of got an 8v. The word "Blistering" comes to mind when I think of an 8v taking off from the traffic lights. Nah, only messing around. I test drove a 16v and it didn't appeal to me as I don't like to rev too much, which is what you got to do to get the most out of it. Once in a while its alright to redline lit, but then it gives me a headache.

"redline it"  ???

The limiter cuts in before the redline! I frequently hit the limiter! Its fun!
