That seems more like it. Bits of leather, painted kit etc will weigh a touch more but not 200kg.

no, my german is crap...utterly crap.
I only have a German father, around 50 German cousins and an A grade at Scottish Higher level German, and can speak it fairly fluently too

So yes, my german isn't very good at all....I bow to your superior knowledge and experience

What a heated debate going on here!!  Guess this is what happens when CHILDREN start to interfer, what can i say.....

The thing to note is that the 0-60 figures should be taken with a pinch of salt.  The original gti is actually quicker to 60 than the literature values, so i'm pretty sure the edition 30 will be too.  Many manufacturers do this for insurance purposes i'm pretty sure.  Also, as the edition 30 has a bigger turbo (same as S3), as the engine is run in, it is likely to gain more bhp than the normal gti.  Furthermore, it will have greater capacity to modify, due to the bigger turbo (i.e. it will be able to hack more bhp than the normal gti) - anyway, as many of you have rightly said, speed isn't the be all and end all - OVERALL, this car will be fantastic.

Tomcat - As in Rover Tomcat, cheap cars with low 6's 0-60, 150 top end and loads of torque steer

What are you going to e-mail VW about?

And am I right in saying you have an mk5 R32 or a mk5 GTI?
