I asked my dealer and he said no. But I suspect it is only question of time...

That R GTI has really made me sit up and think... anyone know where to get lightweight/carbon fibre bonnet, door, rear hatch and front wing replacements for the Mk5 GTI?    And a carbon fibre/lightweight body kit.  That plus a Quaife LSD, 19" BBS Air Alloys, Stage 3 Revo plus Miltek Exhaust and aftermarket suspension.... I am planning to keep my Anniversary for a long time and those mods are all reversible and will help me keep the original parts in brand new condition.  Where else can I loose weight but not compromise on the all-rounder feature central to the GTI concept?  If I had all that done for about £4500, I'd be looking at a car weighing as much as a Mk2 GTI running at around 280bhp - whats the estimated 0-60mph time?

Hmmmm really... how much do the carbon fibre parts cost - assuming they exist?

£525 for the Quaife LSD
£500 for Revo
£1500 for the BBS Alloys - pure guess here
£500 for a carbon fibre bonnet - is that too cheap
£500 for a pair of carbon fibre doors
£500 for a rear hatch without glass
£???

sh1t - forgot about the tyres - thats an extra £800 plus the fitting of the Quaife and the lightweigt body kit - still about £5750 after all that... or are my carbon fibre price estimates just plain wrong?

Last thing i heard, proper carbon fibre stuff still cost loads. Bonnets seem to vary from £500 to £1000, but as the Golf may need to be a one off..... Door seem to be about £1500 each Just found www.amber-performance.co.uk who do some CF stuff but none of it is for Golfs. Prices are just for comparisons.
