oh dear.... my ebay bargin has developed a noise today..... i was giving it big licks trying to keep up with some bloke in a 330 coupe bmw who shot off from some lights... besides a bit of boat like handling nearly catching me out at one point i wasnt that far behind him.. went on for about 8 miles, so the engine was gettin some stick (probs not good at 180k on the clock
) temp ok and every thing else spot on,
but when i pulled up at home to drop some stuff off i noticed a noise on tick over.. only thing i can describe is like either a noisey alternator bearing or water pump bearing, but it isnt coming from the belt side of the engine, its coming from the camchain/gearbox side, dosnt sound like a tensioner/chain prob as it isnt really a rattle as such.. sounds like its higher up dizzy area or just below, its not there all the time only on idle and certain revs....
can anyone help me as to what this noise could be?? where is the water pump on a vr6? cause thats what it sounds like.. unless theres a bearing in the dizzy or sumthing?? or maybe ive just killed it... lol.. still runs a treat and is full power etc just got this noise.......
