Does the clutch actually slip or does he just suspect the clutch because of the 5th gear problem? as its far more likeley to be a combination of the bushes and engine mounts   :smug:

If they're sorting things out and they did a good job of the engine then maybe you should stick with them  :undecided: better the devil you know and all that, just be sure you know or have a good idea what needs and specify what you want done before you give it to them

As for the electrics, I'm sure you used to them by now, it'll probably fix itself

The clutch has been stiff for a while but its recently got really stiff. Then It wouldn't go into 5th gear at all. Then it would with a lot of effort, then it wouldn't again. I also have trouble with 1st and reverse.

Thanks for advice gibby. Might go back to Ladyroyd if I don't find any closer to home. Someone reccomended IVC on Globe Road in Leeds. They specialise in VW and Audi so might give them a go. Anyone heard of them?
I need a new fuel relay?

You're welcome. A lad at work who drives Audi's recommended IVC to me, I've not actually used them myself but he always said good things about them. They're not in Globe Road anymore though as I passed them the other day and the units where they were are shut down. There's some signs saying where they've moved to but they were too far away to read.

You may not need a fuel relay, the connections probably just need a bit of a sand down with some sandpaper as the connections get sh1tted up, it's happened to me too.
