Looks good like that, How hard was it to get the mk4 clocks working with the mk3 engine or is it a 1.8t under the bonnet?
Any chopping of the actual dash needed to make it fit?

Probably got lost in the "Great Crash of 08

i paid 175 for the dash complete with clocks centre console everything i needed. it fits straight in no cutting required if you are using a aftermarket steering wheel.  if your using stock steering wheel then an inch of the back has to be cut off so the dash sits further into ther car. the only thing that wont fit is the glove box as you have to remove the back off it to get past the dash support.

the clocks work fine, the engine is still the gti engine(im tarting my 20vt engine up beofre i put in) i have a list of what wire to connects to what mk3 wire to make the clocks work so if anyone wants a copy of the list to help them with the conversion then pm me and ill email it to them as the mk3 speedo loom contains all white wires so a pin to pin description is needed.

i havent declared the dash to the insurance! i dont see why i should.  Do all the girl racers declare their pink fluffy steering wheel covers etc. i dont think my dash conversion would make a difference to my insurance anyway but once the car is on the road, all mods will be declared and an agreed value will be arranged with my insurance.

cheers for the compliment dizzie, nice to finally meet you and for clearing up some of my frustration with hoses and wires etc.

you should declare all mods really. it might not even change your premium, but if you have to make a claim and they look into it and find you have undeclared mods they might void your policy.

best thing is to ask them how much extra it would be and then decide. it's likely there'll be no increase.
