Lowering springs

i've seen sum jamex springs and i want to lower my 1.3   60mm, but it says i need shortened dampers ? is this true or can i just buy the springs and have them fitted without altering anything else?

you will need to uprate your dampers. Otherwise the standard ones will fatigue quickly and begin to leak.

40mm is ok on std shox but you will find on a 60mm drop your shox will bottom out i think.

so if i bought sum 40mm spring i woludnt need to update the damper and could keep them the same , there in mint condition because the cars been garaged for 16 years and has done only 39 000 miles

Yeah I reckon you will be ok on a 40mm drop with std shox :wink:

Get yourself some Eibach springs, they are designed to work with OEM dampers.

In my opinion it is pointless to change the springs without changing the dampers and top mounts.
May as well do the lot while its apart, its not that expensive.
