right i got some 'cotton' out of wifeys sewin kit and like hooked underneath and gave a sawing action through the pads, cotton keep breaking though but it did the job!!!, some one has also said about heating em with a heatgun etc, i just used cotton then picked off what pad was left, then used a bit of turps to remove any old polish etc before stickin me new ones on! ;D

Badges look good, but whats that blemish in your paint next to the badge, looks like somebody nicking the badge off it!!!!

Oh and if you wanna get badges off the easy way use a jet wash and some 3M compound polish to get the last bit off

Not sure if they're standard on any models but they are very easy to fit.

I've managed to get hold of a US badge, launched to celebrate 20 years of the GTi in the states. Matches the font for the rear ones (with the little rabbit).

Clips straight into the grille.

Kniterider,

You said it cost you ?10.97 inclusive of insurance.  Does this mean that your insurance co hiked up your premium for sticking on a badge, or did you mean postal insurance?

I ask because I wanna get me one of those front grille badges for mine.  Until I can save up for some proper mods, I want something that'll make me motor stand out a bit ( the '99 GTIs like ours look pretty tame out of the factory ).

Cheers,
Rich
