3dr Front Seat Problems
« on: 19 July 2006, 16:48 »
Anyone had problems with failure of the sliding mechanisms? I've had mine [passenger side] 'fixed' 3 times now and am getting fed up. Only gets used twice a day so its not a wear issue.

Seat will still slide with the seat base controller but not the handle on the seat shoulder.
Anyone else?

As the owner of a new 3dr I am surprised that the seats do not slide back to the original position - not a big deal due to my lack of use of rear seat - but the potential to be a real pain.

The seats DO go back to their original position.

Next time you pull the seat forward push it back using THE BASE ONLY - DON'T touch the backrest or handle and let us know how you get on.

As soon as you move the handle or backrest it locks the bottom of the seat in place!

Will try this - without touching the bachrest - easier said than done, when the natural action is to tip the backrest forward to let someone in the rear. Thanks

The reason I say DONT TOUCH it is to see if it works

Once you know it does (or doesn't) you can then try doing it using the backrest and devlop a technique that works for you

Don't get me wrong - you shouldn't have to develop a technique but hey ho...
