wider tyres would make slightly stiffer steering, not sure if the suspension would count? suppose heavier wheels would make a difference too?

A question though....it is a n reg 16v... and has black paintwork with a slight silver fleck in it..is this a correct VW colour?? Just asking as the paint is fantastic..I have checked for accident damage as it's so good, but can see none, or detect any filler with my magnets...he did look confused when I was running them over the paint...they are in velvet pouches as not to scratch

same colour as my car mate.. see the sig... its "black magic"..
Used to have a '97 MK3 16v GTI 3dr in 'Black Magic'... now have a '55 Civic Type-S...

Heavy steering - get the geometry checked, camber or toe made need adjusting due to the lowering.
Most people forget these very important adjustments!

Also check the drive belt tension.
