MK2 Golf / Wing mounted antenna

I rewired my sony headunit for some quality cable but now i cant recieve radio signals?
Is this antenna connected to the remote wire on the sterio? if so how?
Any ideas peeps?

the remote cable which is normally orange, is used to control either a electric antenna or an amp, basically it turns the power on to either deviced when the head unit is turned on, so i doubt that is your problem, just make sure the connections ar clean and intact, and securly fitted

yaeh checked all that stuff. I only get a signal when i touch the antenna

Maybe an earthing problem   as u may be earthing it hwen u touch it
so make sure you got a good earth, not sure how ya can do it with a atenna, maybe run a cable from it to an earth point??
