Getting modding on the 8v, if you've already got a filter and exhaust then get a cam as well. Quite cheap if you look around.

what sort of a price are we talkin here?
and is it a relatively easy DIY job?

any other bits needed apart from the cam?

Get a fast road cam for about 150 quid. Probably good to change the tappets as well, about another 100 quid.
If you are doing the cam belt, then do it at the same time.

Hello all, I haven't been online in a while. Got court on Monday to find out how long my beloved 16v will be off the road. As for the fourth gear debate I was doing 110 in fourth when I got poulled over and it wasn't in the red. :P
08.03.10 - 3, maybe 4 weeks, and I want my golf back on the road!

Got 105mph in my 1.4  mk3(8v) in 4th gear, quite suprised said 97 in the books
