errmm, ok.  As i said before, i live 1 hours drive from the nearest duel carriage
way,  so max speeds are a little hard to acheive!
There is a relatively straight piece of road quite near, where i have hit a (measily?) 110mph.
However, the said road aint exactly flat so you do start to float/bounce a bit at high speed.  + it goes straight into a 40mph zone village, where the pigs could be, unlikely - but possible.

Also to do these speeds i have to do it in the dark which makes it even more sketchy!

I hear you say 'the dark?  chicken sh!t!'
But honestly this is little more than a B road between two villages.
No cats eyes or white lines!

Anyway i'll give 110 in 4th a go sometime.  I haven't got a chance of maxing out in fifth tho.

Anyway I love my golf when 60 on a muddy backlane gives a almost legal buzz!!! ;) ;)

I get much more of a buzz doing a good speed round a set of tricky
bends, than I do from flat out in a straight line!!! ;)

8v gearboxes are only geared to 59.8mph - speedo inaccuracy

They sure do, one of the things you really notice about the 16v's is that extra 1000 rpm, really makes a difference :)
