Identifying wires
« on: 09 May 2006, 14:29 »
Hello,  Anybody have a wiring diagram?

Trying to identify the wires for the stereo of a mk4 golf, as the iso blocks have cut off.
Anyone know what each colour is?

Red
Blue/white
Brown/red
Brown/white
Blue/white
Grey/white
Red/white x2
Yellow/red
Blue/grey
Brown

Tried contacting several dealers, but said they couldn't give out that info.
Help much appreciated.

Red - Power
Blue/white
Brown/red
Brown/white
Blue/white
Grey/white
Red/white x2
Yellow/red - Ignition Power (may be the other way round with the red wire)
Blue/grey
Brown - Earth

All the others are for the speakers. Try matching coulours and do a process of elimination for the + and - for each speker

Computer games don't affect kids, I mean if Pac Man affected us as kids, we'd all be running around in darkened rooms, munching pills and listening to repetitive music.

Thanks for the info!

Wondered what was wrong as the wires didn't tally,  then found there were no rear speaker wires.

Cheers for now.
