its wear the wishbone rears bolts into.

just on this subframe problem, i've done a bit more research into it, mainly on clubgti and it turns out this is a common problem on mk2's.

ill give you some more info on monday when i get the car back. ive got a feeling this is what has been causing my knocking noise in the front of the car which i orginally thought was engine mounts

i origionally had mine plated to strenghen it up by some dodgy bloke trying to save me money but he then told me to get rid as it was now too strong and would not give in an accident therefor sending more shockwaves into the cabin.

but when i had it checked out by a vdud specialist he told me it  wasn't stong enough and that was why the car handled like a boat!

mine origionally had three small holes in it

Could be a simple think like tracking out or wheels balancing weight has dropped off

nope its defo a weird one as the vibration comes and goes, you can go a drive as i did yesterday without it occurring but after going round a corner this morning the noise suddenly re-appears, then disappears after a few more corners!

i had that vibration.
When i got my tires changed the guy told me the front wheel was buckled and so he switched it over to the rear wheel.

Vibration gone ;D
